Earth Energy and Astrology for 2020

Earth Energy is Asking You Something

Have you been feeling the pull toward the practical lately? This first week of January marked an astrological time of SO MUCH EARTHINESS.

In astrology, earth relates to those practical things: work, money, environment, relationships, responsibilities, etc. If you've been feeling pulled toward addressing any of these areas, you're right on track.

Fortunately for all of us, addressing these areas doesn't equate to having the answers. In fact, with the current transits through earth, it's likely you've identified challenges but not solutions yet.

Know that just by naming a challenge, the solution tends to appear in time. Keep walking toward what you most desire, even if you're unsure how you'll get there, even if your present circumstances seem impossible. There is hope.

Friday's full moon lunar eclipse in Cancer and Sunday's Pluto/Saturn conjunction in Capricorn offer us a moment to really see what challenges are facing us. Keep in mind that many challenges seem insurmountable, particularly when viewed on a global scale. Their impossibility is an illusion.

What are the questions you're seeking to answer? Can you go just a little longer without knowing? Can you search with an open heart/mind and see what it is you find along the way?

This week's AstroYoga pose strengthens the area of the body ruled by Capricorn and provides grounding energy for tumultuous transits.

ASTRO YOGA TIP OF THE WEEK

Practice Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II)

To practice this pose:

1. Take a wide stance
2. Turn your right toes forward and bend your right knee
3. Reach your hands wide and gaze over your right fingertips
4. Stay still for several minutes, watching your breath
5. Repeat on the other side

PRO TIP

Engage your legs fully to get the benefit of this posture. Keeping the legs still, engage the legs toward one another while simultaneously sending the knees outward.

My advice on how this asana connects with astrology is general. Your personal chart will offer more specific advice on what sorts of activities could fortify your best qualities and encourage growth where there’s unrealized potential.
