Tough Transits and Your Weekly AstroYoga Forecast for 12/10/2019

Why did Sagittarius dislike the jokes from the present transits? Because they were so Capricorn-y.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Puns aside, is it just me or does it feel as if Capricorn season has come early this year?

There's an astrological reason for that. Today, Venus, the planet of love, pleasure, and beauty teams up with Saturn, the planet of boundaries and restrictions. All of this is happening in Capricorn.

So right now: Capricorn is housing Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter, and Venus, and you may be feeling more boundary-ridden than normal. If you've been reading these for awhile, you know that Capricorn is being pressure-cooked for a prolonged season of churning out a proverbial diamond.

Everyone has an area of their life ruled by Capricorn, and chances are you don't need to look at your astrology chart to guess what yours is. What area of your life feels poked, shaken up, and difficult right now despite your hard work and best efforts to the contrary?

My advice: take these lessons and learn. Keep trying and putting in work, but understand that you may be sowing the seeds for future potential rather than reaping the rewards of an abundant harvest.

Be patient with yourself as you go through your practice and your life.

The AstroYoga pose of the week strengthens the Capricorn-ruled area of the body and opens the Sagittarius-ruled hips and thighs.

ASTRO YOGA TIP OF THE WEEK

Practice a Variation on King Pigeon Pose (Ekapadaraja Kapotasana)

To practice this pose:

1. Lunge your left foot forward and lower your back knee
2. Descend your hips any amount
3. Lift your back foot by bending your knee
4. Reach for the foot with the hands
5. Remain here for several breaths
6. Repeat on the other side

PRO TIP

Engage isometric opposition in the leg. Isometric activity is muscular engagement without motion. Try drawing the two legs toward one another while simultaneously descending the hips. Try kicking the foot into the hand while simultaneously pulling the foot toward the body.

My advice on how this asana connects with astrology is general. Your personal chart will offer more specific advice on what sorts of activities could fortify your best qualities and encourage growth where there’s unrealized potential.

Enrich your practice; understand your chart!
